Even if a manicurist works with a respirator during the sanding phase, they still get nail dust into their lungs every day. 56% of the dust that enters the lungs comes from the surfaces of the workstation during the procedure. The remaining 44% of the dust that ends up in the lungs comes from other surfaces that have settled on them during breaks, such as acrylic dust that has settled in a coffee cup.
